Donegal’s contingent in London had no answer to Galway in the Connacht SFC quarter-final in Ruislip.

Padraig Joyce’s side, who are chasing a provincial three-in-a-row, ran out winners on a 5-21 to 0-9 scoreline, without Shane Walsh, Damien Comer and Cillian McDaid.

Galway were 1-15 to 0-3 in front at half-time, with Cathal Sweeney the goalscorer. In the second half, Paul Conroy, Cein Darcy and Tomo Culhane, with two, added goals to leave London to focus on the Tailteann Cup.

Donegal was well-represented in the Exiles’ panel, with Michael Boyle - the 2012 All-Ireland winning substitute goalkeeper from Termon - the head coach.

Michael Lynch, formerly of Gaoth Dobhair and Naomh Colmcille, was in goal, with Daniel Clarke, who was also with the Newtowncunningham-based club, scored two points from centre-forward, alongside Ciaran Diver from Moville, who also scored, with Termon’s Nathan McElwaine in the corner.

Michael Miller, St Eunan’s; St Mary’s Convoy’s Patrick Dolan and Michael Carroll, Gaoth Dobhair, all came on as second-half substitutes. Sean McMonagle of Na Rossa and Joseph McGill of St Mary’s Convoy were also part of the London panel.
