St Mary’s Convoy made it two wins in-a-row in Division 3 after they placed three goals past Naomh Bríd to secure a nine-point victory on Sunday.

While it wasn’t ideal conditions with Storm Kathleen playing a major part in the match, nothing could separate the teams in the first half, but whatever influenced the Convoy men at half-time, it worked wonders with the home side planting three goals past Naomh Bríd goalkeeper Adam Burr.

Ciaran Dolan opened the scoring for the home side but the Ballintra team quickly responded with a point from Callum Gallagher to level the game.

St Mary’s would knock over the next three scores with John Toye hitting two in-a-row, while Bryan McNamee shot for his side’s fourth score of the day.

Naomh Bríd would slot over the final point before the break to leave the scoreline 0-4 to 0-2 at half-time in favour of the St Mary’s men

Toye started the half as he finished the first period with a fine long-range point, but Naomh Bríd would keep the scoreboard ticking with scores from Shane Walsh, Gary McCafferty, and Darren Russel.

But then the Convoy side turned up the heat as they landed three goals.

The first was fired home by Pauric Gordon who gave the home team a six-point cushion as he hit the back of the net.

That was followed by an Anthony Browne penalty after Toye was brought down in the box which extended St Mary’s lead.

The game was all but over at this point, but Liam Toye had the final say as he slotted home St Mary’s third goal of the afternoon to wrap up a fine day for the Convoy side who finished nine-point winners.
