Naomh Ultan had a deserved victory on the road as they overcame Naomh Colmcille in Newtowncunningham on Saturday evening to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season in the Yes Chef Division 3.

Against a youthful home side, two Cian Kennedy frees put Naomh Ultan into an early lead while Tiernan Brown missed a glorious opportunity for the home side when he hit the crossbar from close range.

Two further points from Luke and Daniel Gallagher had Naomh Ultan four up before the home side opened their account with two points in a minute from Eoin Flanagan and Oisin McFadden to leave two points between the teams at the interval.

The second half started in much the same fashion as the first when Luke Gallagher clipped two points (one free) to increase Naomh Ultan’s advantage. Naomh Colmcille with plenty of possession were finding it difficult to convert it into scores with numerous wides.
