Carndonagh goalscorer Donal Doherty
Carndonagh 1-9
Urris 0-11
In a game of fine margins, Carndonagh emerged the victors over Urris in a closely contested clash in Foden, on Sunday afternoon.
Despite Urris leading 0-7 to 1-3 at half-time with Donal Doherty scoring that all-important goal, it was the Carndonagh men who edged in front in the second half to secure a one-point win.
The locals upped the ante at the start of the second half and drew level in the opening minutes of the new half, hitting a purple patch and going three clear as the clock hit the 60th minute.
A battling Urris were not going down without a fight and they scored the game’s closing two points to reduce the lead to one with time running out, but couldn't find that needed equaliser with the Carndonagh men finishing one-point victors.
Urris were best served by Conor Bradley, who landed six points throughout but it wasn't enough on the day as Carndonagh remain undefeated in Division 3.
