Páirc Naomh Fionnán played host to Cloughaneely's clash with Na Rossa in Division 2 of the All-County Football League
Cloughaneely 3-14
Na Rossa 2-5
Cloughaneely notched their first win of the All-County Football League Division 2 with a comfortable victory over Na Rossa in Falcarragh.
Following defeats in their opening two encounters against Dungloe and Killybegs - as well as having no fixture on weekend three - a 12-point winning margin was welcomed by the locals.
Na Rossa started well with a goal from Adrian Hanlon and another point from Hanlon and Aidan McHugh ensured a Na Rossa lead for the first 20 minutes of the game but this lead would be short-lived as Shaun Maguire and Ciaran Coll stood their ground for the home side, with Coll picking up three points and Maguire securing four before the half time whistle, which left Cloughaneely with a two-point lead of 0-7 to 1-2 as they headed for the dressing rooms.
The second half was very much a one-sided affair with Cloughaneely dominating most of the play.
Darren Ferry would go on to score two points for the home side while John Fitzgerald picked up a goal early in the half which was quickly followed by another from Shaun Maguire with points also coming from Darren McGeever and Sean Geaney which left Cloughaneely with an 11-point lead.
Adrian Hanlon scored the first point of the half for Na Rossa after a scoreless period of 15 minutes, which was followed by an Aidan McHugh point shortly afterwards to decrease the margins between the teams slightly.
Ciaran Coll put the home side another point ahead once more while John Fitzgerald increased the lead with another point.
Adrian Hanlon secured another point for Na Rossa while Keelin Devenney shook the back of the net for them in the final minutes. Cloughaneely finished strong with another goal from Ciaran Coll after great cooperation between himself and midfielder Darren McGeever and Coll sent another over the bar in injury-time
