Nigel McMonagle's first half goal set Moville on their way to victory at Naomh Ultan
Naomh Ultan 1-11
Moville 2-11
Joshua Lafferty was the toast of Moville on Saturday night as his injury-time goal proved the defining scoring in his team's clash with Naomh Ultan in Dunkineely.
With the teams locked on 1-11 each and the stopwatch clicking into injury time, the wing-back converted from the penalty spot to snatch a dramatic win for Moville in Division 3.
Moville led at half-time. 1-7 to 0-7, with Nigel McMonagle netting. Full-forward Shaun White bagged the goal and brought the locals right back into the game. And with the sides level going down the back straight a share of the points looked a likely outcome.
But Lafferty did not read the script and he struck the golden goal. The win also meant the North Inishowen men maintained their push for promotion.
They are in third place in the Division Three League table, on six points and just two points adrift of joint leaders and early pace setters St Mary’s, Convoy and Carndonagh. The defeat was Naomh Ultan’s second of the season and they are in sixth place in the table on four points. They have won two games and lost two.
