Eoin McGeehin was on top form for St Eunan's against Bundoran in Letterkenny
St Eunans 2-23
Bundoran 1-2
Eoin McGeehin scored 2-6 as St Eunan’s put a weakened Bundoran to the sword in a one-sided All-County Football League Division 1 clash at O’Donnell Park.
The 24-point win means the Barry Meehan-managed side retains their top-of-the-table position. In all the home team had 11 different scores and among them was Caolan Ward, who played his first full game since last October - the Donegal SFC semi-final loss to Naomh Conaill.
The elusive Timmy Govorov scored 1-1 for Bundoran, with Lee Smyth getting their other score. Govorov struck for the goal, Bundoran’s opening score 13 minutes into the game when he did well to win a long Matthew Duffy long ball in over the top behind Eamonn Doherty to beat Chris O’Donnell from close range.
St Eunan’s didn’t turn back though and led by 10 points, 0-14 to 1-1, after laying siege in the Bundoran half for most of the first half.
The points continued to flow and McGeehin palmed the first of his two goals from Ward’s pass. At 1-18 to 1-1 in front and with a little over 15 minutes remaining they piled on the pressure and added another McGeehin goal and five points to Bundoran’s one in the closing exchanges.
