Naomh Brid were able to bring on Calum Gallagher and Darragh Brogan and along with an in-form Eoin Rush, they had just too much firepower for a dogged Naomh Ultan at Trummon in this Yes Chef Division 3 encounter on Sunday.

Gallagher, a week out from his nuptials, and Brogan made a big impact for the home side, who were never headed in the contest.

Naomh Ultan did have a good goal chance midway through the second half when Luke Gallagher blazed wide with just three points between the teams, but they could never get any closer after that.

The players from both sides must have been watching Donegal against Tyrone as there was great pace and accuracy to the game in the first quarter.

Pauric McDaid started the scoring from a 45m free and Eoin Rush added a second. Cian Kennedy hit back for Naomh Ultan but Rush pushed Naomh Brid 3-1 ahead.

Cian Kennedy replied from a '45' but then Naomh Brid hit the next three points from Rush (a free from outside the 45m line), Gearoid Gallagher and Daren Russell.

The scores then dried up with the fitness levels not able to match what was on view in MacCumhaill Park the night before.

Naomh Ultan almost had a goal on 23 minutes when a high centre from Luke Gallagher was scrambled out from under the crossbar. Cian Kennedy  (free) and Luke Gallagher got Naomh Ultan back within two by the 28th minute but Naomh Brid finished the half well with Gearoid Gallagher pointing from play and from a mark to leave the home side ahead at the break 0-8 to 0-4.

Two Cian Kennedy frees at the start of the second half cut the deficit but Darren Russell pointed a free after Ciaran Cunningham made a great goalline stop from Gearoid Gallager after the 'keeper spilled the ball. Aaron McGrory then put four between them again.

Patrick White and Eoin Rush traded scores before Gallagher's goal chance. The Naomh Ultan player then added a good point but further points from substitute Darragh Brogan (2) and two from Rush put the game beyond doubt with Naomh Ultan's only replies coming from two Cian Kennedy frees.
