Gaoth Dobhair had things mostly their own way following Sunday’s eight-point win over Downings, in Magheragallon.

Mark McFadden (2) and Niall Friel scored the goals for the locals who were too strong all over the field for the men from Rosguill. The winners led by 2-5 to 0-2 at half-time after dominating the opening period.

But the visitors outscored the winners 1-6 to 1-5 in the second period with Jamie Lee McBride, Johnny and Keelan McGroddy, and Ronan Pasoma posting the scores for the visitors. McBride also netted the Downings goal. 

Ethan Harkin was in fine form for Gaoth Dobhair and capped a good outing by scoring seven points.  The win moves Gaoth Dobhair onto 12 points, level with double champions Naomh Conaill and just one adrift of table toppers St Eunan’s.
