St Mary’s now sit on top of the third tier on 12 points, level with Carndonagh, but ahead of the Inishowen men on score average

St Mary’s, Conoy are sitting on top of Division 3 following Sunday’s win over neighbours Robert Emmets in St Mary’s Park.

The hosts led 1-6 to 1-3 at half-time. Full Forward Ciaran Dolan netted the St Mary’s goal and Pauric Gordon and John Toye scored the points for Laurence McMullan’s men.

Rory Dalton grabbed the Robert Emmets goal and Dylan McNamee posted the two points for the men from Emmet Park.  

A second goal in the opening minutes of the second period, scored by   half-time substitute Cormac Mulrain, got the locals off to a dream start.

And with Conal McDermott, John Doherty, Anthony Browne, and Toye all kicking points, Convoy stretched their lead out to 2-11 to 0-3 by the time Anthony Browne struck for St Mary’s third goal.

Browne converted from the rebound when his initial penalty was parried by Sam McGlinchey.

The third goal opened up a 3-11 to 0-3 lead and super sub Mulrain put the icing on the result with goal number four. Dylan McNamee scored Robert Emmets two second-half points.
