Urris took a big step in their bid to retain their Division 3 status with a narrow home win over Letterkenny Gaels on Sunday afternoon.  

Conor Bradley, Shane McCaul and Aaron Porter scored the goals as the Inishowen men registered just their second victory in the third tier, moving onto five points in the process.

Urris now sit in eighth place with four games still to play. Bradley also kicked four points across the hour with a fine individual performance while Eddie Kelly, Johnny Noone, Jonathan McDaid and Dean Harkin also scored for the locals. 

Second-half substitute Ronan Frain top-scored for Gaels with five points while Colin Breslin scored the goal for Paul Melaugh’s side.  

Urris scorers: Conor Bradley 1-4; Shane McCaul 1-1; Aaron Porter 1-0; Eddie Kelly, Johnny Noone,Jonathan McDaid, Dean Harkin  0-1 each. 

Letterkenny Gaels scorers: Ronan Frain 0-5, 2f; Adam Duffy 0-3, 2,f, 1 '45; Shay Doherty 0-3, 1f;  Colm Breslin 1-0, Matthew Callaghan 0-1 each.
