CJ Molloy hit some crucial points for Ardara at the weekend
Ardara 0-15
Naomh Muire 2-6
Ardara got two valuable Division 2 points on Sunday as they seen off Naomh Muire in Pearse Memorial Park with three points to spare.
Kevin White and CJ Molloy set an early tone for the hosts before a long ball in from Harry Harden was punched to the net by Patrick Gillespie.
Still, Callum Malley and Johnny McHugh both registered to once again put Ardara in front at 0-4 to 1-0.
McHugh again, twice, and Malley were at it again nearing the end of the opening quarter before Eoin Martin grabbed Naomh Muire’s first over on 18 minutes.
McHugh then landed a free while Martin (free) and Harden (free) kept the visitors in check at 0-7 to 1-3. And the final score of the first-half came from a CJ Molloy free to leave it 0-8 to 1-3 in favour of Ardara.
Martin - from a sideline - nailed a brilliant opening point at the start of the new stanza but Malley was equal to the task down the other end.
McHugh was also in scoring form in the new period as he moved onto 0-4 for the afternoon. The same player was then denied a goal as Declan Ward produced a brilliant stop.
John Ross Molloy then grabbed a point while Conor Classon also cleared the crossbar. Still, Naomh Muire grabbed a second goal when Martin toe-poked home from close range to leave two in it.
Molloy, from another free and from play, gave Ardara a little breathing room but a Martin brace, again from a free and from play again left two in it. But with John Ross Molloy nailing the final point, Ardara held on.
