Urris win two valuable points in Pettigo

Dylan McEleney’s second-half goal was the decisive score in this evenly-contested clash with the Urris men traveling back up to the north of the county with a five-point victory

Urris clocked up another good win with a five-point away victory over Pettigo on Sunday afternoon.  

Dylan McEleney’s second-half goal was the decisive score in this evenly-contested clash.  

Urris led 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time before pulling away in the second period of the game to take all two precious league points back with them. 

Goal scorer McEleney also scored a point, while Conor Bradley capped another good performance with three points. And goalkeeper Johnny Noone, in a Niall Morgan-like performance, kicked four points, with Brian Doherty, Shane McCaul, and Tiernan McDonald also chipping in with points for the Alan Friel-managed side.   

Ollie McCauley and Shaun Robinson inflicted the most pain on the winners. McCauley kicked four points, all from frees, while Robinson posted three for the locals who gave as good as they got for most of the game.  

Pettigo scorers: Ollie McCauley 0-4, 4f; Shaun Robinson 0-3, 2f; Jarlath Leonard, Johnny Robinson, and Darren Lynch 0-1 each. Urris scorers: Dylan McEleney 1-1; Johnny Noone 0-4; Conor Bradley 0-3; Brian Doherty 0-2; Shane McCaul and Tiernan McDonald 0-1 each.
