Glenswilly 0-19 Malin 1-7
Glenswilly turned on the style in the second half to post a comfortable-in-the-end victory over Malin in Division 1 of the All-County Football League.
There was only a point in it at the break, with Glenswilly 0-7 to 1-3 in front following Ryan Diver’s black card for the hosts and Sean Byrne’s goal for the visitors.
Gary McFadden struck twice in that opening half for Gary McDaid’s side and was joined by five others, while Sean O’Neill and Christy Fildara McLaughlin were Malin’s dangermen.
The second half wasn’t as close, though, with Glenswilly outscoring Michael Byrne’s team 0-12 to 0-4. McFadden would finish the afternoon with six points, while Daithi Gildea managed four and Eoghan Scott three. For Malin, Luke Rudden joined McLaughlin and O’Neill, who got three apiece, on the scoreboard.
Eighteen points from play is a fine return for any team and Glenswilly hit that over the course of the hour.
