Action from Dungloe's win over Termon
Dungloe manager Dessie Gallagher was very happy with his side's second half comeback against Termon at the weekend having looked dead and buried at half-time.
Termon outplayed and outfought Dungloe in the opening half hour and deservedly led by five points at half-time, in Rosses Park. But in the end, Gallagher’s charges had turned it around to take the 1-11 to 0-10 win.
“It didn’t look good at half-time we were five points down,” said the Dungloe boss.
“The boys knew that they weren’t playing well. And fair play they came out in the second half and they ran themselves into the ground which was good to see.
“It was something we had not been doing consistently all year. They really ran themselves into the ground and they got their reward with the win. We need to win to stay in the promotion race.
“We had a lot of injuries all season which affected our form but a number of the boys came back today and did well.”
Termon led 0-8 to 0-3 at the break and when Daire McDaid opened the second half scoring, they were six points up.
“We spoke about it at half-time, even if they scored the first point of the second half that we kept going and the chances would come.
“Fortunately they did and Daire scored the goal that brought us right back into the game”.
He added: “Adam Neilly has just come back from Australia and he has had a couple of weeks of good training. He is a good player, always was and it is good to have him back too.
“Conor Greene is back from Australia too. He was not feeling well so we did not start him but he came on late and scored a couple of points.
We are still in with a chance of promotion. We got a couple of bad results at the start of the season which has landed us in the situation we are in.
“We have a big game next weekend against Buncrana, in Buncrana and if we win that and the remaining three games after we will be in with a chance of the playoff place. However, we probably need another result or two to go right for us. “
