Conor O'Donnell of St Eunan's scoreed three points for his team at St Michael's
St Michael's 0-6
St Eunan's 1-6
Pauric Boyle’s goal and three points from Conor O’Donnell Jnr were vital as St Eunan’s completed their All-County Football League Division 1 campaign with a win at St Michael’s.
The win takes the Letterkenny side to second place in the table, although with the sides below them - with games in hand, they’ll have to wait and see if they stay there. St Michael’s remain on five points, with just one to play.
Barry Meehan’s St Eunan’s made the running in the first half and went in seven points in front, only for the hosts to make a stab at it in the second period.
By the break, it was 1-5 to 0-1 for St Eunan’s with Boyle’s 23rd-minute goal supplemented by three Conor O’Donnell Jnr points, with Noah Barrett and Dylan Doogan also scoring. St Michael’s Carlos O’Reilly was the only local point-scorer in that opening half.
After the break though, it was St Eunan’s who hit just the one - Eoin McGeehin the scorer, while St Michael’s Andrew Kelly, Kyle Mcgarvey, Eoghan Kelly, Colin McFadden and Edward O’Reilly raised white flags. St Eunan’s didn’t score in the last 20 minutes, although St Michael’s probably needed a goal that never came, to totally reignite their challenge.
