Louth beat Cork to claim quarter-final spot: What it means for Donegal and the rest

Louth have reached the last eight in the All-Ireland SFC thanks to a late winner in the preliminary quarter-final and now the teams in the hat know their possible opponents this coming weekend

Louth topple Cork to reach All-Ireland quarter-finals - here's who can play who

Louth's one-point win over Cork in the All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-final tie at Grattan Park in Inniskeen has completed the last eight in the All-Ireland SFC.

Cork were 1-5 to 0-5 in front at half-time with Daniel O'Mahony grabbing the goal and looked to be in a good position. However, a goal from Donal McKenny with 10 minutes to play swung the balance of play Louth's way and although Cork got back to terms, Sam Mulroy's free sealed a 1-9 to 1-8 win.

Louth join yesterday's winners - Roscommon, Galway and Derry - in progressing to the quarter-finals, where the group winners - Armagh, Dublin, Donegal and Kerry - are lying in wait.

Teams cannot face teams they met in the provincial final or those they met in the group stages that followed. Seeing Armagh are seeded and Donegal's two opponents in their group stage, Tyrone and Cork, are out, it means Jim McGuinness's side can play all the four teams who made it through this weekend.

This is the list of who can play who:
Donegal: Derry, Louth, Roscommon, Galway
Armagh: Louth, Roscommon
Dublin: Galway, Derry
Kerry: Derry, Roscommon, Galway
Derry: Donegal, Dublin, Kerry
Louth: Armagh, Donegal
Roscommon: Armagh, Donegal, Kerry
Galway: Donegal, Dublin, Kerry

The teams will be seeded with the group winners in one pot and the four others in the semi-final draw, which will take place on Monday at 8:30am on RTÉ Radio One. All four games will be played at Croke Park this coming weekend, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.

The fixtures will be released afterwards tomorrow, although it's understood Louth's quarter-final will be played on Sunday, seeing they were the only team to play this Sunday and thus will get a seven-day gap.
