Killybegs 0-9

Four points down with two minutes remaining, a Paddy Carr penalty helped rescue a point for Gaeil Fhánada as they got a draw with visitors Killybegs at Portsalon.

The story of the game was a cagey first half with both sides being defensive and at the end of the 30 minutes there was nothing between the sides at 0-3 each.

James Kerr had opened the scoring before two Jack McSharry points had the Fishermen ahead. Michael Sweeney levelled things four minutes before the break.

There was time for one more point each,  Ryan Cunninghan and Alan McAteer pointing.

Killybegs took a firm grip of the game in the first 20 minutes of the second half with points from Evan Broderick, Ryan Cunningham, a Jack McSharry free and another from  play by Ryan Cunningham.

Darren McElwaine cut the lead but Ryan Cunningham from a free left four between again with time running out.

Then came the strong finish from the home side with Paddy Carr converting a penalty. Jack  McSharry pushed the lead out to two with time almost up but two points in added time from Shaun Kerr and Mark Friel left it all square at the final whistle.
