Consolation point at this stage with Ciarán Byrne knocking the ball over the bar in what is probably the final score of the day

It was said before the game that Donegal will hit in the region of 18 points . . . and they've just hit that target with Michael Langan kicking over his third of the afternoon. Sam Mulroy responds with his fourth point but the Wee County need something big if they wish to be in with a chance of winning this game

51mins - Donegal 0-17 Louth 0-11

Donegal are in a really comfortable position. It looks like they will be heading back to an All-Ireland semi-final for the first time since 2014 as Ciarán Thompson hits over his first of the afternoon. Looks like target practice at this stage for the men in green and gold as Louth begin to tire and kick a lot of ball away.

31mins - Donegal 0-9 Louth 0-8

A pull on Ryan McHugh's jersey off the ball results in an easy free for Gallen to kick over off his left. The follow-up play saw Louth rush down the field on a lightning attack, the red jersey is fouled which ends in Sam Mulroy kicking over his third point.

28mins - Donegal 0-8 Louth 0-7

Moore makes it a two point game again with the St Eunan's man adding his second point with Donegal again getting a score on the loop. But Durnin replicates this minutes later with his second point as he fires over under severe pressure. Back to one point

The ever-present Craig Lennon gives the stadium a rush of excitement as he makes it a one-point game. Louth coming into their own now as he nails over from distance

Jim McGuinness's side are motoring here with Peadar Mogan adding his name to the scoresheet as he kicks over the head of two Louth defenders on the edge of the box. But Sam Mulroy responded from distance to keep Louth's hopes alive early on. Donegal really in control here all around the field

A breakdown in the Louth attack resulted in Donegal racing up the field in lightning pace with Oisin Gallen getting on the end of the score as Donegal his their fourth point with four different scorers

6min - Donegal 0-3 Louth 0-1

Another bit of patient Donegal play afforded the man from Carndonagh Conor O'Donnell to put over in what is his first start in over a year as he makes a remarkable comeback from injury . . . and what a way to make his return. Donegal cruise from one side to the other until they see the gaps in the Louth defence. They lead by two points.

A loose ball on the edge of the Donegal 'D' allowed Tommy Durnin the chance to march into space and kick over off his left for his side's first point of the afternoon.

Hello, and you're very welcome to this special day in Croke Park as Donegal looks to get back into their first All-Ireland semi-final in a decade. They face a Louth team brimming with confidence following their one-point victory over Cork last week in Monaghan.

Donegal have had an extra week of preparation and they hope that will have a massive factor in this afternoon's game.

These two sides last met in the league back in March in Ballyshannon with Donegal coming out the victors that day with a five-point win. And while Donegal will come into this match as favorites, their opponents today are the very team that knocked Cork out of the championship, the only team that Donegal has lost to in either league or championship so far this year.

Donegal makes one change to today's starting team with Conor O'Donnell coming in for Mark Curran.

The teams today are as follows:

Donegal: Shaun Patton; Conor O'Donnell, Brendan McCole, Eoghan Bán Gallagher; Ryan McHugh, Caolan McGonagle, Peadar Mogan; Ciarán Moore, Michael Langan; Shane O’Donnell, Ciaran Thompson, Daire Ó Baoill; Patrick McBrearty, Oisin Gallen, Niall O’Donnell.

Louth: Niall McDonnell; Donal McKenny, Dermot Campbell, Dan Corcoran; Conall McKeever, Anthony Williams, Craig Lennon; Tommy Durnin, Bevan Duffy; Ciarán Murphy, Ciarán Keenan, Conor Grimes; Ryan Burns, Sam Mulroy, Leonard Grey.
