If it was goals you were looking for Madavagh was the place to be on Friday night as Na Rossa and Dungloe served up a host of three-pointers in this Division 2 league clash.
Six green flags were raised in total over the hour with all those goals scored in the second half of this local derby clash before a good crowd at the home of Na Rossa.
Dungloe led by five points, 0-9 to 0-4, at the end of a competitive and feisty opening 30 minutes.
The goal rush started early in the second half with Dungloe netting the first cancelled out almost immediately with the first of the locals’ two penalties.
Donegal All-Ireland winner from 2012 and a former Dungloe player Adrian Hanlon converted from the spot to keep the game alive at 1-10 to 1-4.
Ryan Connors then scored the game’s second penalty soon after to open up a 2-10 to 1-5 lead. And Dessie Gallagher’s men had extended their lead out to 3-13 to 1-6 with under five minutes remaining.
But two late goals, one from Christian Bonner and another from the boot of Aidan McHugh from the penalty spot, reduced the Dungloe lead to nine points.
On the night Dungloe had nine different scorers while Hanlon, Bonner and McHugh accounted for all of Na Rossa’s scores.
