Brendan Cawley will be the man in the middle at Croke Park when Donegal play Galway

Brendan Cawley will referee Donegal's All-Ireland SFC semi-final against Galway at Croke Park next Sunday.

The Kildare official took charge of the Ulster SFC semi-final, in which Donegal defeated Tyrone 0-18 to 0-16 at Celtic Park in April, as well as Galway's 2-14 to 0-15 win over Derry at Pearse Stadium in May in the group stages of the competition.

The side managed by Jim McGuinness face Galway on Sunday at 4pm. Donegal defeated Louth on Sunday last 1-23 to 0-18 to seal their place in the semi-finals, with Galway having overcome Dublin 0-17 to 0-16. Kerry take on Armagh in the first of the semi-finals on Saturday evening at 5:30pm
