Letterkenny Gaels concluded their 2024 All-County Football Division 3 campaign with a victory over Naomh Colmcille at Páirc na nGael.
Two goals from Paddy Doherty helped the Letterkenny men secure the victory.
The home side dominated the first quarter with three scores coming from Shay Doherty and one from Kevin Langan before Willie Gillespie opened the scoring for the Newtowncunningham men in the 16th minute.
Shaun McGilloway was next on the scoresheet for the Glebe men while Paddy Doherty raised the green flag with a well taken goal after a perfect hand pass from Langan. Willie Gillespie concluded the scoring of the first half.
The Gaels’ domination continued during the second period with the Cathedral Town men scoring three more goals, these coming from Ben Gallagher, a second from Paddy Doherty and Liam McAlary.
The home side alternated their goals with points from Kevin Langan, Shay Doherty and Conor Walker. Naomh Colmcille scored four late points with Hugh O’Donnell, from a free, Stephen Gallagher, with two, and Joel Cullen all raising the white flag.
Attention now turns to the upcoming Championships for both teams with Letterkenny Gaels playing in the Intermediate and Naomh Colmcille in the Junior A.
