Naomh Muire claim the bragging rights against Dungloe in final Division 2 outing

The win for the Lower Rosses men also means they finish just ahead of Dungloe, in sixth place, while Dessie Gallagher's men must make do with a seventh-placed end to their league season

Naomh Muire finished off their Division 2 league campaign with a two-point win over Dungloe.

Daniel Devlin scored a goal and two points while Eoin Martin kicked four points in what was a fully merited win over the old rivals. 

Adam O’Brien, Darragh White,  Shaun Burns and Daniel Ward also got their names on the score sheet. 

Barry Curran was Dungloe’s standout player, kicking five points from wing-back. 

Dylan Sweeney, Oran Gallagher, Ryan Connors, Daire Gallagher, Matthew Ward and Conor Greene also scored for the men from Rosses Park.

The opening quarter was evenly contested before Devlin found the back of Danny Rodgers' net for the game's only goal.

That was on the 20-minute mark and propelled the locals into a 1-7 to 0-6 lead. 

Dungloe were chasing the game from then on. They outscored Naomh Muire by seven points to six for the remainder of the game but, in the end, still came up short.
