Paul Fisher telling presence in both the Donegal men's and ladies backroom teams in recent years
Paul Fisher has confirmed his time as a gym owner has come to an end.
Fisher is an Assistant Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science and is currently the Athletic Development Coach for the ATU Donegal Sports Teams and Sports Scholarship Athletes.
The Ramelton native was a telling presence in both the Donegal men's and ladies backroom teams in recent years as Strength and Conditioning Officer. He worked with Rory Gallagher and Decan Bonner's men's panels from 2015 to 2020, having been assistant S&C from 2011 to 2024 under Jim McGuinness, with Maxi Curran at the ladies in 2022 and 2023 and also for Derry City FC.
Fisher has a Master of Research, Sports and Exercise from Letterkenny Institute of Technology, a Bachelor's Degree, Sports and Exercise Science out of Ulster University, as well as a Certificate in Strength and Conditioning, Physical Fitness and Conditioning for Sport from his time in Setanta College.
"After 10 years as a gym owner the time has come for me to move on," he posted. "From my first premises in Letterkenny to my current residence at Donegal Physio & Performance Centre, I’ve loved every minute of it, however, with increasing demands and further career opportunities elsewhere the time is right to close this chapter.
"I will sincerely miss the community we have created. I am equally as excited to see what the next chapter holds, although my time as a gym owner is up I look forward to coaching / teaching in other environments. Thanks to anyone and everyone who has crossed my door and showed support over the last 10 years!".
