Niamh McLaughlin and the Gold Coast Suns suffered an emphatic 54-point demolition at the hands of St Kilda at People First Stadium on Saturday.

Moville and Donegal star McLaughlin was named in the half back line for the hosts but they were already 25 to 0-1 adrift at the end of the first quarter. 

By the midpoint the visitors were 40-8 in front and but the full-time whistle the scoreboard read 74-20. 

McLaughlin and her teammates will look to bounce back next Sunday when they host Carlton.
