Pauric Ryan is hoping to get the weekend off to a winning start for St Eunan’s when they face Naomh Conaill in Friday night’s Senior C final at the Donegal Training Centre in Convoy (throw-in, 8pm).

It’s the first of three senior finals for the O’Donnell Park club this weekend with the Letterkenny second string out on Sunday in McCumhaill Park in the Senior B final where Gaoth Dobhair will provide the opposition (throw-in 1.45pm).

Then, in the weekend’s main event, St Eunan’s and Dungloe will tangle in the Donegal SFC final with the action getting underway at 4pm there.

Ryan has already enjoyed championship success with the club at both U-16 and minor level in his first season in the job.

After a mixed league campaign, where he tried out a large number of players in the C grade, he feels he has now assembled a good squad and one capable of challenging for championship honours.

“We’ve played seven or eight league games and our league season was very mixed. It was very much a case of win one, lose one”, said the St Eunans boss at last week's championship press launch in Convoy.

“It was very difficult early in the season with lads away at college and you know the usual with young lads working part-time jobs.

“We tried to mix it up and introduce as many young lads into the team as possible. The C team is all about introducing the lads to adult football.

There are up to half a dozen minors and they have blended in well with the older guys like Rory Kavanagh, Conall Dunne, and Conal McGinley on the team.

Oisin Scanlon, Eoghan Haran, Harry Blake, Thomas Roche, and Senan Martin make up the minors in Ryan’s squad.

“We played Naomh Conaill in the league final in O’Donnell Park. It was a close game and we won in the end by a point and we are expecting another tight game on Friday night. Hopefully, we will come out on the right side of the result once again.”

The St Eunan’s squad: Niall Forde, Cathal O’Donnell, Thomas Grant, Sean Freeburn, Ruairi Kavanagh, David Horgan, Thomas O’Donnell, Conal McGinley, Rory Kavanagh, Lorcan Harvey, Conall Dunne, Lorcan O’Donnell, Donnacha Devenney, Patrick Tobin, John McIntyre, Roan Cody, Paddy McGowan, Harry Blake, Eoghan Farren, Senan Martin, Johnny Lambe, Gavin McCarron, David O’Donnell, Leon Boyce, Will Patton, Ryan Hilferty,  Aidan Friel, Ciaran McIntyre, Thomas Roche, Stephen Nairn.
