Kieran Donnelly, Ulster boss, has selected Daire Ó Baoill, Oisin Gallen and Ciaran Thompson in his provincial squad for the weekend's games at Croke Park

Oisin Gallen, Daire Ó Baoill and Ciaran Thompson have all been selected for this weekend’s Inter-Provincial series in Croke Park.

The games will showcase the new proposed playing rules devised by the Football Review Committee  (FRC) with several 'sandbox' trial encounters having already taken place behind closed doors.

The 12-strong FRC members include former Mayo and Clare managers James Horan and Colm Collins, former Kerry boss Eamon Fitzmaurice, new Tyrone manager Malachy O'Rourke and Donegal's 2012 All-Ireland winning captain Michael Murphy.

Following the weekend’s trial games on Friday and Saturday 18/19 October, the rules will go before Central Council for initial approval at the end of the month before full approval is sought from Special Congress.

On Friday, Leinster will play Connacht in the first semi-final at 6pm which is followed by the meeting of Munster and Ulster at 8pm.

The following day will see two more games take place as the two defeated provinces meet at 5.30pm and the winning teams compete against each other at 7.30pm.
