Here are fourteen moments to celebrate the return of the man who wore number 14 throughout his career and is widely regarded as Donegal's greatest player

2008: Teenage Kicks 

He might have only been 18 and doing his Leaving Cert but it showed that he was wise beyond his years and capable to stepping up to the mark when his side needed him. 

On a June afternoon in MacCumhaill Park, the teenager and his Donegal team faced a Derry side coming off the back of winning the 2008 National League in the Ulster championship. 

And while Derry ran out that game two-point winners, the day was remembered for Murphy’s courage in stepping up to take a penalty on the stroke of half-time when Christy Toye was fouled in the box. 

It would exemplify McIver’s point in that, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
