Former Aodh Ruadh and Donegal county minor, Sean Taylor, will play in the Connacht Senior Club final after his side, Coolera-Strandhill won their semi-final on Sunday.

The Sligo champions, who defeated St Molaise Gaels (Cliffoney-Grange) after a replay to lift the Sligo title a week earlier, got the better of Mayo champions, Ballina Stephenites in a close semi-final in Markievicz Park on Sunday.

Sean Taylor wore the No 3 jersey for Coolera on Sunday as they prevailed on penalties after extra-time failed to produce a winner. The sides were level at 0-7 each at the end of normal time and 0-9 each at the end of extra-time.

Taylor played as a goalkeeper with the Donegal minors in the past and with Aodh Ruadh before transferring to Coolera-Strandhill. He is well known as a strength and conditioning coach working with Sligo GAA teams and with Sligo Grammar School rugby team. He has also worked with Killybegs GAA in the past. Taylor has also been part of the Sligo GAA panel as one of their keepers in recent years.

Coolera-Strandhill will now meet Padraig Pearses of Roscommon in the Connacht Club senior final
