The second Leadon Timberframes Ulster club minor semi-final in Ballinascreen was over as a contest by half time, with Sean MacCumhaill’s leading by 2-10 to two frees from Ryan O’Rourke that saw the Donegal side to a 21-point win.

The Donegal side had a range of scorers picking off points from the start with Daimhin Byrne hitting their first goal in the 16th minute. Four minutes later Fionn McGinty made it 2-8 to 0-0 with a second goal.

O’Rourke’s points came soon after but Dylan Patton finished the first half scoring with his fifth point.

Although O’Rourke opened the second-half scoring with a point from a free, McGinty grabbed his second goal soon after and the Monaghan champions did well to contain Sean MacCumhaill’s for the rest of the half.

There were a couple of excellent points from Pauric Kelly and one from Jacob Malone as the team dominated in most areas of the pitch.

The final between Eoghan Ruadh Dungannon and Sean MacCumhaill’s will take place on Saturday at Ballinascreen with the winner progressing to take on Lavey in the Cup semi-final on Friday, December 27 at midday.

The second Cup semi-final on the same afternoon will be between Glenariffe-Glenravel, who took their first-ever Antrim title a couple of months ago at the expense of Dunloy, and Bredagh, the winners of the George McKeown Cup in Down.

Sean MacCumhaill’s scorers: F McGinty 2-0; D Patton 0-6, 3fs; D Byrne 1-1; P Kelly 0-4; R Doherty 0-2; J Malone and S Brady-Devenney 0-1 each

Carrickmacross scorer: R O’Rourke 0-3, 3fs.
