Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon are hoping to boost their club membership next season
Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon has issued a rallying call to its community following revelations about the impact of declining membership numbers on the club's ticket allocation for major matches.
Speaking at the recent Donegal GAA County Convention, the club highlighted how adult membership figures directly influence the number of Ulster final tickets distributed to each club.
The issue came into sharp focus in 2024 when Aodh Ruadh, with just 200 registered adult members, received an allocation that fell far short of the demand from fans eager to support Donegal.
The decline in adult membership, which has dropped significantly since 2020, has left the club at a disadvantage on these highly sought-after occasions.
With Michael Murphy set to return to the Donegal management team in 2025, optimism is growing for a successful season ahead. Aodh Ruadh sees this as an opportunity to strengthen its membership base and, in turn, improve its ticket allocation for the county's big games.
The club hopes that by reversing the membership decline, it can better serve its loyal supporters and contribute to the broader success of Donegal GAA. Membership for the 2025 season is now open, and the club is encouraging both current and new members to sign up.
