Eamon McGee: All eyes will be on Jim McGuinness' take on new rules

Eamon McGee says it’ll be interesting to see if coaches take their lead from Jim McGuinness once more as the new FRC rules begin to bed in.

The 2012 All-Ireland winner says so many managers imitated instead of innovated when his former boss first took the reins with Donegal.

Now, with the new football rules in place, the Gaoth Dobhair man says he’s interested to see will that same ‘copy cat’ type approach rear its head once more.

“If there is a way around some of it Jim will find it. Michael Murphy is there too once more and he’ll have his input.

“So many people have tried to emulate Jim and copy him. He’s created so much conversion since he came back in. It shows the influence he has.

“But I’m looking forward to the coaches that try to innovate and find the best ways to play. That’s exciting”.

Those waiting on McGuinness’ take on the new playing rules will have to wait a little longer after their clash against Kerry in Killarney was postponed.

Road conditions prevented Jim McGuinness' side from making the trip for the game which was due to throw in at 1.45pm.

It is expected that the tie will be rescheduled for the weekend of the 8/9 February, with the CCCC to confirm details on Monday. Donegal welcome Dublin to Ballybofey next Saturday evening.

McGee is among eight GAA stars set to feature in the upcoming series of Laochra Gael.
