Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon is set to honour one of its most dedicated and longstanding members, Jim Kane, with the prestigious Hall of Fame Award at this year’s Annual Awards Night.
The event will take place this Saturday evening at Dorrian’s Hotel in Ballyshannon, where Kane’s immense contributions to Gaelic Games in the town will be formally recognised.
Kane has been an integral part of the club for many years, contributing to the development of football teams at all levels through his roles in coaching and management.

His leadership was instrumental in guiding the Ballyshannon side to victory in the All-Ireland Community Games Boys’ Football title in 1990. Furthermore, he played a key role in leading a team to the All-Ireland Féile Finals in 1994, further cementing his legacy in underage football.
Beyond his work on the field, Kane has been deeply involved in the administrative side of the club, having served in various capacities at Bord na nÓg and on the Club Executive.
His dedication extends beyond coaching and administration, as he has consistently been at the forefront of match-day preparations, ensuring the town is adorned with bunting and lending his unwavering support to teams across all Gaelic codes.
The club eagerly anticipates inducting him into the Hall of Fame this Saturday evening at the Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Night. Tickets for the event are available HERE through Klubfunder.
