Nathan McElwaine from Termon has been named as the London Senior Footballer of the Year.

Corner-back McElwaine helped North London Shamrocks to a 1-11 to 1-8 win over St Kiernan's at McGovern Park in the London SFC final in October and onto the All-Ireland series, where they were eventually defeated by Ballina Stephenites from Mayo - the Connacht champions.

McElwaine, who also lines out with London's senior footballers in Division 4 of the Allianz League, picked up his award from GAA President, Jarlath Burns.

"We’re bursting with pride," North London Shamrocks posted. "A true champion both on and off the field!"

Termon GAA posted: "Huge congratulations to former player with Termon Nathan McElwaine on receiving London senior player of the year award. A fantastic achievement for a great young man. Congratulations from us all at the Burn Road"
