Inishowen schools triumph at Allianz Cumann na mBunscol county indoor finals

The Allianz Cumann na mBunscol County Indoor Finals took place on Friday, with six boys' and six girls' teams from across the county competing in a thrilling display of skill and determination.

The boys' tournament featured teams from Scoil Iosagáin, Doirí Beaga, Stranorlar, Glenties, Barnesmore, and Gaeilscoil Cois Feabhail. The group stage games were closely contested, with only a few points separating the teams throughout.

Following two exciting semi-finals, the final saw an all-Inishowen showdown between Scoil Iosagáin and Gaeilscoil Cois Feabhail. In a hard-fought contest, Scoil Iosagáin emerged victorious, edging past their local rivals in a match that remained on a knife-edge until the final whistle. Well done to all the boys’ teams who represented their schools and coaches with pride.

The girls’ tournament featured teams from Barnesmore, Gaeilscoil Cois Feabhail, Tooban, Educate Together, Scoil Mhuire Creeslough, and Coimín. The competition was equally intense, with several tightly contested matches showcasing impressive skill levels.

In the final, Gaeilscoil Cois Feabhail faced Coimín, who had dominated their matches up to that point. However, in a dramatic turn, Gaeilscoil Cois Feabhail produced a superb performance to claim victory. Their attacking play and clinical finishing proved decisive as they overcame a strong Coimín side.

Across both competitions, players demonstrated excellent scoring ability, defensive blocking, tackling, and passing, highlighting the exceptional standard of football on display.
