Padraic Joyce says Galway will quickly move on from their draw with Derry as they get set to renew acquaintances with Donegal. 

The Tribesmen just about edged next weekend’s visitors in the All-Ireland semi-finals last season and the top two in the NFL Division 1 square off next in Pearse Stadium. 

Joyce's team looked set for a third straight victory on Saturday when they led by nine at half-time but were instead grateful to John Daly's brilliant block on Ethan Doherty's shot with only 10 seconds left on the clock.

In the end, both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils in a 0-16 to 0-13 draw at Celtic Park.

Jim McGuinness’ side now lead the way outright in the top tier with maximum points from their three games so far while Galway are just behind on five after that splitting of the spoils in Derry. 

“We have five points out of six which is not too bad,” said Joyce on Saturday.

“The players are disappointed because we were in a winning position but we didn’t see it out.

“We got more game-time into fellas, some need more work into the legs and we have Donegal next week. It will be a running game and we need to get lads ready.”
