Galway will be another one of those 'severe' Division 1 tests - Jim McGuinness

Jim McGuinness and Padraic Joyce renew acquaintances on Sunday

Jim McGuinness says it’ll be ‘more of the same’ when Donegal go away to Galway in the NFL this Sunday.

The Division 1 leaders have picked up three wins from three so far with All-Ireland champions Armagh the latest scalp to be added to the Dublin and Kerry ones previously claimed.

Padraic Joyce’s Tribesmen are just behind on five points after last weekend’s draw in Derry and the leading two in the top tier will now clash in Salthill at the weekend.

Galway of course accounted for Donegal’s All-Ireland aspirations at the penultimate hurdle last term but none of that will count for too much this time out.

Still, McGuinness says Division 1 is a gauntlet and there are no absolutely respite junctures.

“It’ll be more of the same,” McGuinness told DoneaglLive. “The seven games in Division 1 will be exactly the same. They are all severe tests.

“Every single day it’s a battle. Kickouts will once again be massive. Teams are beginning to get a handle on how they want to play at this stage.

“We’ll recover from Armagh and then begging to plan for Galway. We’ll see during the week what personnel are available and take it from there”.
