Gaeil Fhanada came good in the second half of their opening league outing of the season as they came from behind to run out comfortable winners in Portsalon on Saturday. 

James Kerr and Liam Grenaghan carried the main scoring threat for the winners and ended the game with a tally of nine points between them.

Full forward Kerr kicked five of the Gaeil Fhanada points with McGrenaghan posting four from the half-back line.

St Mary's, despite being down a number of established players enjoyed the better of the opening half and deservedly led 0–5 to 0-3 at half-time. 

But it was a different story in the second period with the locals playing with the wind in their backs. With Shaun Carr and Oisin Shiels pulling the strings in the middle of the field and Liam McGrenaghan raiding from the half-back line the locals outscored St Mary’s 1-8 to 1-1 to claim the league points.
