On a day when Maggie Farrelly made GAA history, Donegal duo Nathan McElwaine and Enda McCormick helped London to another impressive win.
Glenfin clubwoman Farrelly became the first female to referee in the Allianz League when she took charge of the Division 4 clash between London and Leitrim.
The game, played at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan, saw London win 2-5 to 0-9 and continue their quest for promotion.
Termon pair McElwaine and McCormick featured for the Exiles. McElwaine began in the London defence while McCormick entered as a 42nd minute substitute, replacing goalscorer Chris Farley.
James Gallagher netted the other London goal.
For Farrelly, it was certainly a baptism of fire on her big day in testing conditions.
“The conditions were horrific and it was very tough for the players to show their skills,” she said afterwards.
“I just see it as a great opportunity. I don’t get too excited about it.
“I referee matches at different levels week in week out. Yes this is a historic moment but it is done now. I don’t get too fussed about these things.”
