Monaghan hold on to overcome Donegal in Ulster U-16 Ladies Championship

Monaghan ran out victors over Donegal in the Ulster U-16 Ladies Championship Round 1 Tier 1 clash in Lifford on Sunday.

Donegal 1-9
Monaghan 3-7

The Farney County played with the wind in the first half to establish a lead of 2-5 to 0-3, with the Donegal scores coming from Inishowen duo - Naomh Padraig’s Ava Walsh’s brace and one from Aisling O’Neill from Malin.

Donegal made a fight of it in the second half with Carndonagh’s Bronagh Butler hitting an impressive 1-4, with the goal coming from a penalty, and points from Walsh and Eva Gallagher of Kilcar.
