Naomh Padraig from Lifford, seen in action here against Pettigo last year, made the most of their trek to Dunkineely
A late goal from Conor Breslin was enough to see Naomh Padraig, Lifford take home the league points at a windy Dunkineely.
Naomh Ultan 1-12
Naomh Padraig, Lifford 3-7
In a game of two halves, Naomh Padraig, Lifford made use of the wind in the opening half to lead by 1-7 to 0-4 at the break with Brian Breslin especially to the fore, hitting six of those seven points.
Naomh Ultan came back strongly in the second half with Patrick White converting a penalty early in the half and with Cian Kennedy, as usual, getting his share of the points, they were back in the game.
Naomh Padraig managed just two scores in the half, but both were goals, with the second coming late on to put them two clear. Naomh Ultan kept pressing and forced three '45s' before Joe Alvey had a late chance to win it but his effort went just over the crossbar.
