Four Masters manager Kevin Sinclair says their Donegal SFC round three clash with Bundoran will be a “huge battle.”

Sinclair’s team drew their first day out against Cloughaneely on home turf and although contributed well to a reasonably open first half in Ballybofey, went down 1-14 to 0-10 to MacCumhaill’s in their second outing.

Sinclair felt there were certain positives in defeat with the Donegal town’s side featuring a host of young players, although paid credit to Oisin Gallen, who scored the only goal - a mazy run and assured finish.

"We finished the game well but we were just a little disappointed we let it get away from us early on,” Sinclair said. “It just gave them the foothold. They had that wee bit of experience and that wee bit of class really. The goal was and the manner in which Gallen took it was exceptional.

“But senior football, especially championship, it's a serious step up. And a lot of our lads are still only 18 or 19. But they are applying themselves brilliantly and the learning is fantastic. I've no doubt we'll continue to improve. We're building and we're aware of the bigger picture.”

Bundoran on Sunday were beaten comprehensively 1-21 to 1-6 by St Eunan’s and Peter MacIntyre’s team also lost out on the opening weekend at Aodh Ruadh on a 1-8 to 0-6 scoreline.

“Bundoran at home now,” Sinclair added. “They are looking to pick up points, just like ourselves, so we know that's going to be a serious battle. But it's about getting back at it now this week on the training field and looking at how we can improve. But there are two huge points at stake, no doubt.”
