Patrick McBrearty - on top form for Kilcar with 1-10
It took Kilcar half an hour to get the wind in their sails but eventually they had much too much firepower for Ardara in the Michael Murphy Sports SFC in Towney.
Kilcar 2-23
Ardara 1-12
The scoring power of Patrick McBrearty was again to the fore, the Kilcar man notching 1-10, while young Ryan McShane, a roving corner-back, chipped in with five points. McBrearty’s final tally is the best individual score of the championship to date.
The win sees Kilcar remain in top spot in the league table and they also remain on track to be in the mix at the business end of the championship.
Ardara were short a number of players including Matthew McGlynn and Matthew Sweeney while Kilcar started without Brian O’Donnell.

Kilcar might have thought they would have it all their own way against one of the teams with no points on the table, Ardara, but the visitors put in one of the best performances of the year with Conor Classon once again to the fore.
Kilcar started well with Patrick McBrearty in top form and Ciaran McGinley also adding his customary score.
After 17 minutes the home side had opened a five point gap, 0-8 to 0-3, with points from McBrearty, the impressive Ryan McShane, Eoin Cormack and Eoin McHugh.
But Ardara kept chipping away with John Ross Molloy and Paul Walsh contributing two points each while Classon, Tony Harkin and Paul Watters also added scores to leave the visitors trailing by 0-11 to 0-7 at the break.
McBrearty had tallied six points by the half-time break for Kilcar with Ryan McShane contributing two from corner-back.
Kilcar cut loose in the second half with Gary Molloy having the ball in the Ardara net before the 32nd minute mark after being first to react after an Andrew McClean effort came back off a post.
The points flowed from Conor Doherty, Ryan McShane with his third and fourth and Mark McHugh from a free.
Conor Classon had a lone Ardara point before Patrick McBrearty added a second goal from the penalty spot after Conor Doherty was fouled.
By the time Tomas Boyle had Ardara’s second point of the half on 50 minutes, Kilcar were 2-19 to 0-9 ahead.
The visitors did get a goal of their own when their best player Conor Classon sent Robbie Adair through to score, but it was only putting a better look on the scoreboard.
Kilcar didn’t ease up as Patrick McBrearty kept the scoreboard ticking while Ryan McShane came forward to hit a fifth point, some contribution from corner-back.
