Miss Candon, who hails from Ballisodare, cares deeply about animals and the environment.
Knowing animals can't speak for themselves, she wants to be a voice for the voiceless and wants to bring their needs to the Dáil.
Miss Candon and her party’s main policies are to tackle, and abolish, the government’s grant aid to the greyhound and horse racing industries, which has seen €99 million in donations previously, according to the candidate, and to push for a department of animal welfare in the Dáil.
Animal welfare and safety are at the core of the party’s beliefs.
The Database Support Engineer will also seek, if elected, to stop animal testing and incorporate animal welfare into education.
Other priorities include immediate action to address climate change by investing in sustainable practices, such as building sustainable social housing and redirecting grants towards sustainable agriculture.
