Arranmore greets the island’s first set of traffic lights

The first set of traffic lights on Arranmore Island

The first set of traffic lights ever established on Arranmore Island is operational.

As of this morning, road users are advised that the traffic lights are in use. The lights were established to serve while the National Broadband service is laying pipes.

“I think we’re making history,” Nora Flanagan, Arranmore RNLI, told DonegalLive.

Arranmore Island is located approximately 5 kilometres off the coast of Burtonport. The island is accessible by ferry and the journey takes about fifteen minutes.
