The family of the late Jenna Shovlin, Clogher West, Portnoo have made a very generous donation of €5,000 to The Charlie Bennett Memorial Fund in memory of their daughter.

The Charlie Bennett Memorial Fund is an emergency fund for people in the Ardara locality in case of unforeseen circumstances. It is named after the late Charlie Bennett, an Ardara native and former Chairman of Donegal County Council.

The memory of Jenna Shovlin was honoured recently with a gospel concert at The Church Of The Holy Family, Ardara. Singer Patrick Feeney and Kilcar Community Singers took part, raising €18,020 for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust.

Jenna’s parents Frankie and Kathleen presented a cheque worth €15,500 to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust from a concert in the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town in August featuring band Onóir. In total, €74,200 has been raised for the organisation from the fundraising drive.

Jenna obtained a degree in Galway and had lived in France, England and the United States. She was based in New York, where she worked as a production assistant with Warner Studios.

Jenna sadly passed away suddenly in Manhattan, New York, in March this year at the age of 31.
