A monthly draw is taking place in aid of St Marys Graveyard, Belcruit

Proceeds from the Darren Mills Memorial Walk and Burtonport Variety Group were donated to the Kincasslagh Parish Graveyard fundraiser.

A total of €1,855 was donated from Darren Mills Memorial Walk held on Boxing Day from his mum, Nelly Mills and race organiser Ben McGonagle. First held in 2012, the event has raised over €25,000 for local charities.

Following a minute’s silence, a competitive 6km race took place, with Noel Diver (Meenaleck) finishing first, followed by Odhran Rodgers (Annagry) in second place and Evan Ward (Belcruit) in third. In the ladies’ section, Helen McCready (Meenbanad) claimed victory, with Fionnuala Diver (Meenaleck) second and Clare Reid (Glenties) third.

The Burtonport Variety Group, represented by sisters Mary McGee and Margaret Reilly, also made a contribution of €440, which was 50% of the funds raised from their carol singing in Dungloe on Christmas Eve. The remaining €440 was donated to the Church of Ireland, Dungloe and accepted by David Alcorn.
