The rubbish that was left lying in Glenties Main Street
A Donegal county councillor has called on those who littered a main street in the county to return and clear up their mess.
Cllr Brian Carr of Sinn Féin was making the comments after a bag of litter was left in Glenties Main Street, where there had been a skip that was in use due to work at a local shop, but was since removed.
“The nerve of some people is unbelievable,” Cllr Carr posted on Sunday. “There was a skip in that parking space for the last few months for construction in Paperstop.

“The skip was removed yesterday (Saturday) and today someone dropped these full bags at the tree because they didn’t have a skip. Come back and remove your rubbish. Do you realise that there are plenty of CCTV cameras in that area?
Cllr Carr added that there is too much dumping going on in the south-west area and for people who see anyone to report.
“If anyone seen them please report them,” he added. “Littering is getting out of control. The Maas to Ardara Road (Tullies) has become a real dumping ground, and I also have reports of dumping and littering all along the cycle track. As I said, if you see anyone littering, report them.”
