Mae Blaney becomes only the third female President of Portsalon Golf Club

New Portsalon Golf Club President Mae Blaney

Mae Blaney has succeeded Donal Callaghan as President of Portsalon Golf Club for the next two years becoming only the third woman to hold this prestigious position in the club’s 134-year existence.

In doing so, she follows in the footsteps of Kathleen McCormick and Betty Boal.

A dedicated and longstanding member of the club, Mae has served in various roles, including Lady Captain and numerous committee positions, over the years.

Lady Captain, Roisin McCormack, along with the ladies’ branch, has expressed their best wishes to Mae as she embarks on her new role, representing Portsalon Golf Club at various events and levels in the coming years.

“Thanks is also extended to Donal for all his work in promoting Portsalon over the past two years,” a club spokesperson commented.
