Minister Patrick O’Donovan, the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, in correlation with funding announcements for Carlow and Wexford.

The €150,000 funding limit is available for less densely populated areas, compared with higher funding for more densely populated areas.

Donegal Town’s Lurganboy is an area known for its art and craft, being the home of the Donegal Craft Village.

Minister O’Donovan said: “I am pleased to announce funding of €377,336 under the Artist Workspaces Scheme. The funding provided through this scheme is a vital investment in artists and our creative communities. This funding will help provide secure, affordable spaces where artists can create new work, experiment, and collaborate. In doing so, artists will continue to strengthen our vibrant towns and communities while inspiring future generations."

“It has been consistently highlighted that there is a lack of artist workspaces throughout the country. I would encourage other Local Authorities who have not yet applied under this scheme to avail of the funding to develop much-needed artists’ workspaces in their areas.”
